INTREPID INTERCESSION

“Intrepid” is perhaps not a word many people use. I’m partial to it for two reasons:
1. It is a good adjective for the kind of intercessory prayer that is needed these days.
2. I’m a pastor and we love alliteration in our sermon outlines and use it wherever and whenever we can!

For that reason, I made it the title of my latest book, which is live on Amazon now! It is a 366-day devotional packed with guidance, teaching, insights and encouragement specifically geared toward intercessory prayer.

What exactly is “intrepid intercession?” you may ask.

Intrepid means brave, courageous, and dauntless. Believe it or not, it takes courage to engage in regular intercession. Satan hates it, and he will do his best to prevent you from praying, and harasses you when you do. The world laughs at it because it sees calling on God for intervention in problems as weak. Your flesh struggles to maintain a level of independence and would rather be entertained than engage in emotionally taxing work, so it will come up with ways to keep you from it. And even many in the Church will poo-poo it because most hardly ever pray and see intercessors as “super-spiritual” and perhaps a bit strange.

God needs intercessors more than ever. By their relentless prayers, history is shaped, Satan is being defeated at every turn, people are being freed from his dominion, and the gospel is advanced around the world. God has ordained to work mighty miracles through the prayers of His people!

So wherever you are – struggling to incorporate intercession for others in your prayer life or a seasoned intercessor in need of encouragement – this devotional is for you.

Apart from me, fourteen writers contributed to the daily devotions, and Dave Kubal – President of Intercessors for America – wrote the Foreword. Their collective insights make for a wealth of spiritual wisdom.

I hope you’ll be blessed and spread the word to others. Feel free to share the link with as many in your network as you see fit.
